Ace Slim
Ace Slim is the musician and private instructor Trevor Turville. The name derives from his grandfather’s nick name, “Ace” who was a pilot during WWII, and “Slim” from Memphis Slim, the legendary American blues pianist, singer, and composer.
Although mainly a guitarist, Trevor also plays piano, organ, banjo, ukulele, bass, drums, and harmonica. He is primarily a self-taught musician but carries a music degree as well from Appalachian State University. His musical style, songwriting and influences cross over many genres like Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, and Bluegrass.
Trevor’s first self titled album Ace Slim was recorded mostly by himself in Atlanta Georgia and later with the help of Jeff Lusby in Flagstaff Arizona. It shows an eclectic and boundry-less nature in his songwriting. His second album, The Mudshark Sessions was recorded in Flagstaff Arizona at Mudshark Studios by David James. Trevor is currently a resident of Flagstaff and teaches private lessons out of his own studio and has a consistent biweekly gig at the Annex Bar and Grill every other Saturday.
